Our Classes

We have open classes in the Hague on Tuesday evenings from 20:30-21:30 at the Koorenhuis studio. These classes are suitable for all levels. In this class you will build and strengthen your foundations of samba as well as challenge yourself in new ways to continue evolving. Every class has its own theme but we always practice technique, training excercises, variations and small sequences.
As a specialized teacher, Julia breaks down challenging dance into comprehensive core concepts. Besides years of experience in Samba no Pe, Julia has an extensive background in many different dance styles and various performance arts, as well as detailed knowledge of anatomy. Building on this experience, her classes are adapted to an international audience, while always staying authentic and true to samba’s roots.
Classes are openly accessible so you can join anytime! We would love to have you in class with us. You can sign up for class using our online booking system.

Make sure you wear something that you can move comfortably in. Samba is one of the most active and athletic dances, so activewear is usually best for training. For your footwear, we usually train barefoot, on socks, or on trainers.

Depending on the attendees, classes are taught in English or Dutch. As Samba is a Brazilian dance, the class will include some Portuguese vocabulary as well. Julia speaks Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch and English so you can always ask is there is anything you don’t understand.
