George will teach one, exclusive, masterclass tailored for passistas, professional dancers or dancers that work with samba no pé. Due to George’s limited time in the Netherlands, there will not be a lot of opportunity for private classes. We will instead host this very small group class.

George is known for the professionalism of his work (he has also won a professional of the year award). Within and outside of Rio, he works as director for multiple alas of passistas, including the ala of passistas of Mocidade, which also has won many prizes for best ala. Additionally, he coordinates and directs professional groups of samba dancers for performances in various settings in Rio.

In his work, he is detail-oriented. He is the type of director that in a moving ala of 50 dancing passistas can spot one broken heel. His groups are also characterized by their organisation. He works with very skilled individuals and turns them into a powerful performance group.

This class will focus on these essential components for working with samba no pé. We will work on details to perfect your own dance. If you want to level up as a performer, you will not only need excellent dancing abilities, but you also need to learn how to use them according to the context, and how to rapidly integrate and coordinate with any group. After the class there will be a 30-minute Q&A where you will have the opportunity to ask questions. 

In order to be able to teach this type of class, it is important that the participants already possess the technical skills required and are used to quickly learning and adapting choreographies.
